During the changes of administration over the last several years AJ has taken a deep and terrible turn for the worse! The outright criminal behaviour that carry’s on at this school now is absolute atrocity! Not only among the students, but among the narcissistic wrath of the principal and a few of his admirers on the faculty team! A simple yelp review read says much about him specifically. If you’re a present in the community and are hands on involved with these children and their parents, it will yield exactly how prominent a problem this is becoming. There is zero accountability for his misappropriation of manageability within the school atmosphere leading to zero accountability for outright BAD behaviour from students to other students. With suicide statistics among youth skyrocketing in current years the allowance of of bullying by the student (AND by their principal in complete exasperation and absolute inability to preform his job with any poise and skill) makes me deeply fear for the future of the Sackville High family of schools in these coming years! Several student “attendees” don’t even attend school daily for the severity of escalating tormenting among peer groups and onto certain students seemingly chosen and attacked with vicious regularity! Several. Students. Do. Not. Attend. School. Because. They. Do. Not. Feel. Safe. Maybe if ONE kid often had irregular attendance because of anxiety/mental health, physical illness, autism, etc. or even the bullying…… possibly it could be a matter needing little attention brought forth. However, when a consistent, growing number has expressed the same reasons for failure to attend I believe the failure therein lies within that schools ability to provide a safe and healthy environment to educate these children. If we are not your children’s advocates, who is?! I hope even more parents of children at AJ Smeltzer begin to stand up and speak out on behalf of your sons and daughters here, publicly as I am now; the same way you’ve spoken to me privately about some of the same struggles you’re experiencing. These kids are the future. Give them the right “food” (book learning, EMOTIONAL learning, accountability, proper student adaptations and discipline) to promote the BEST POSSIBLE ATMOSPHERE for educational growth for ALL the students! The open reviews about favouritism is not an inaccurate assessment. Although I think it’s less about favouritism and more about lack of ability, desire and motivation to take actual action; laziness for Layman’s comparison sake. This transparent review is only one of many progressive forward action motions that I, myself personally, am taking on behalf and I’m full support of MY child’s best interests and most successful path forward toward her future! My words come with video, photo, investigative interview, and completely visible physical evidentiary support in the event anything in our situational regard escalates to another level problematically. I, for one, won’t stand idle in the face injustice when it comes to mine or anyone else’s kids, period! If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything! ✊? See something; say something.
During my eldest years at AJ we had a wonderful experience. But since the breakdown of the school board, the entire two years there with my youngest has been like living in an absolute waking nightmare! The administrators HIDE acts of violence and actively oppress student (as well as parents) from expressing their opinions on the inside atrocities! I’m all my 15 consecutive years having a child enrolled in a NS public school I’ve never EVER experienced the disgusting criminal deception by lead admin! Parents need to start getting loud about these things. How many more of our children won’t be able to walk across that graduation stage because the opted to take their own life because of the cruel bullying going on inside these schools while the administration sits idol?!
